"Marquis" Fork With Mammoth Rest In Custom Box
The "Marquis" platinum and diamond embellished fork handle is a salad style fork, with stainless steel tines; the 18ct yellow gold handle is 14.2cms, with an overall length of 21.5cms. Scattered throughout the length of the handle are a large number of diamonds.
Diamond List: 9 x colour enhanced green natural round brilliant diamonds equaling 45pts; 16 round brilliant white diamonds equaling 37pts all chenier set in platinum; also 26 round white diamonds equaling 31pts all grain set in platinum; additional principal diamonds are 2 x 20pt EF SI2 round brilliant diamonds chenier set; a 26pt pear shape, a 23pt marquis, a 12pt marquis and 2 x 14pt round brilliant diamond.All the white diamonds are platinum set either in chenier or claws, and the coloured diamonds are chenier set in yellow gold.
The handle has 2 diamond set collars with vine and gum leaf motifs on the forward portion, the aft portion has meandering deco style vine work with matching background texture, a central twist supports the 3 principal fancy cut diamonds, the rear of the fork handle is diamond set. Refer photo.
The Marquis took approximately 3 months to make.
The accompanying Mammoth Rest principal body is hand carved stylised 12,000 year old Alaskan mammoth ivory; embedded are 6 round white diamonds equaling 32pts, chenier set in platinum; along with 2 colour enhanced green natural diamonds equaling 8 pts.
Overlaid on the ivory is a raised 18ct yellow gold and platinum vine like structure, with a number of diamonds attached with textured background and a Broome Keshi pearl with the maker's stamp plate at one end.
The above mentioned fork and rest is housed in a one-off custom made cherry wood display box which has a sterling silver handcrafted gilt "E" referring to the Erotic Jewellery Company
